How to handle initial service?
- Inspect to find the source of the infestation. Carpet beetles feed on both animal and plant materials incl. fabrics, hair, fur, feathers, hides, horns, carcasses and dead insects. Make sure to eliminate the source such as carpeting, drapes, clothing, furs, fabric-covered furniture and stored products.
- Treat as a spot spray using Temprid FX and Gentrol IGR
- Treat areas where carpet beetles normally feed using Temprid FX and Gentrol IGR
What to communicate to client?
- Communicate clearly to client that without eliminating the source it will be very difficult to control this infestation
- Recommend: Steam treat any carpet to eliminate carpet beetle eggs (Stanley Steemer is an option)
- Recommend: Vacuum daily to resolve issue
- Our office will follow up with you in two weeks to check the progress of the treatment
How to handle follow ups?
- Inspect inside and spot treat as necessary

- Document level of activity
- Document any treated areas and method of treatment
- Evidence of live activity on follow up
