  • Precor IGR
  • PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug Aerosol
  • Precor 2000 Aerosol

How to handle initial service?

  • Make sure fleas are the problem. Find and identify them.
  • Have the pets been treated for fleas?
  • Ask about wildlife, strays, pets that may have visited, or items brought into the home from places that potentially had fleas/pets?
  • Inspect all areas where pets spend their time. Cats spend time in areas higher off the ground while dogs will not.
  • Treat all carpet, cracks in wood floors, rugs, under furniture, cracks and crevices with Talstar P and NyGuard IGR. Focus attention to areas where pets frequent and rest
  • Treat under beds and couches. Remove the couch cushions and treat underneath. Pay close attention to cracks, tufts in fabric and pet beds
  • NOTE: Precor 2000 and PT Alpine Flea and Bed Bug can treat upholstery and fabrics. Talstar P can’t be used on those surfaces.
  • On the exterior treat pet runs, shaded areas, fence lines and any areas frequented by pets and/or wildlife with Talstar P and NyGuard IGR

What to communicate to client?

  • Explain that pets need to be treated as well for the issue to be eliminated
  • Vacuum for the next week to help remove existing pupae and stimulate adults to emerge
  • Our office will follow up with you in two weeks to check the progress of the treatment

How to handle follow ups?

  • Inspect inside and spot treat as necessary
  • Check outside for continued activity

What to document?

  • Document level of activity
  • Document any treated areas and method of treatment
  • Evidence of live activity on follow up
